My submission for Illustration Friday's "Moon" is a dimensional painting that I created for a young woman who wanted something a little different. I submitted this to Monday Artday a few weeks ago and I thought this might work today too. I paint so many moons that it was difficult to choose but I recently found this photo and I was happy to see this painting again. It is called "Chained to the Stars".
Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!

I love your 3-dimensional paintings Val. They are so special and this one "Chained to the Stars" is beautiful. We should have had something like this last week in SD when for the first time in many years I saw the stars in the sky.

Wicked. Great job implementating a tactile feeling with the combination of a 2D and 3D plane. When reading the piece and looking below the reflection really finishes it for me. It has a nice polish.
