My submission for Illustration Friday's "Time" is a dimensional painting I made in 1992. The title of this piece is "Night Clawk" and it was hanging in a restaurant in Westwood, CA and a young man named Kirtland Washington came in and purchased it. It's cool how a painting is a part of the artist and then someone takes it home and it has it's very own life out in the world somewhere. I hope Kirtland still has it and enjoys it. I am close to finishing the Shoe House and will post it soon.

ReplyDeleteOMG! I LOVE this piece. I love all your pieces... but this one is just WOW.
ReplyDeleteI think it needed a little black kitty though. I love searching you pics for the little black kitty :)
Crazy...really like how this breaks the frame...This is one I would really like to see in person because while it looks 3D at the same time it doesn't if that makes sense...did you cut away a piece of the frame? Per the usual great light effects here to make it pop...
ReplyDeleteso cool, great pick for this weeks theme, the hawk is lovely.
ReplyDeleteAnd you made this in 1992?Wow. Absolutely wonderful.

Yes, I bet it's like losing a part of you when you sell a piece. I think I would want to know who bought my art (if I were an artist) just for that special connection.
ReplyDeleteOooh... I like the way it breaks the boundary with the roof top...
