This is really cool! It has an alomst medieval look to it with the flat fields in the background. The little barn house looks like it's dancing, and the pecking chickens look so happy. This has such a good feeling to it:>
The simple life can be very relaxing. I just spent time on a chicken farm in Belize. Nothing like 2 kettles of hot water and rain water for a great bath.
There is nothing more simple than life on a farm. Well it may be simple but it's hard work. been ther and done that. Your illo is fantastic and love the folk art look to it with the rolling patchwork hills.
My job as a boy was to clean out the chicken house, and something that has to be done a lot. Stuff happens; and happens a lot in a chicken house.
Enough of that. Your beautiful chickens keep a tidy place, I see. Great piece... I especially like all the attention to detail in your artwork. Wonderful!
Valerie! That is not a SIMPLE chicken coop –it is pretty fancy chicken coop with a flourish! It would be SIMPLE to be a chicken installed in a posh coop in a middle of SIMPLY divine patchwork quilty fields. Love it! Lily.
I love everything about this one, Val! The warm colors, the quilt-like patterns in the hills, the textures on the barn, the small animals dotted throughout....just a great job. And so fitting for simple.
Wow, this is one of the best illustrations this week. I love the fields in the background. Carla is right, it reminds us of those medieval Flemish paintings. Beautiful.
