My submission for Illustration Friday's "Match" is a dimensional painting I made in 1991 for the Revness family in Brentwood. This piece is called "Some Enchanted Evening". The guy is seranading the woman and if this works out it is a match made in heaven...

ReplyDeleteAS usual, I love it and you have kicked all our butts... the colours are beautiful as usual as well. You are very good with colour and not being afraid to use it.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet and romantic - reminds me of the houses of Frida Kahlo and Diego Riveria, I think they had blue houses joined by a bridge :)
ReplyDeleteanother lovely one!
ReplyDeleteOh that is too cool that it is dimensional! I would love to see this in person. So roman tic and gorgeous. I love how the houses in the back seem to be floating in mid-air. A wonderful painting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful night-time colours Val. An outstandingly striking image, I love the bridge!
ReplyDeleteYou do seem to have a storehouse somewhere filled to the brim with high quality work. Do you ever put a brush down?
ReplyDeleteI love bridges and yours is lovely as is the rest of the piece. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
ReplyDeletebeautiful work… what i don't get is why he doesn't just use the bridge… or why she doesn't come running across said bridge into his arms…
ReplyDeleteI do like the dimensional look, gives me the feeling the lovers could cross that little bridge that isolates one from the other, and
ReplyDeleteI love paintings that pull me in, and this little scene is full of drama and purpose. Lucky Revness family.
It sort of reminds me of the brige between Frida and Diego's houses. Were they a match made in heaven or hell? Hmmmmm...either way, lovely submission!
ReplyDeleteHow charming and evocative!
ReplyDeleteThe perspective that you created really jumps of the canvas, Val. And it almost glows with color.
ReplyDeleteGreat match, Val!
ReplyDeleteIs she playing hard to get or just hiding from prying eyes?
Let's hope that bridge is over troubled waters.
