Illustration Friday: Opposites

My submission for Illustration Friday's "Opposites" is from my 2003 HomeMade calendar and the title is Phone Home. I first painted this for a greeting card that Marisol chose for the Hidden Treasures everyday line and the gift is "Call anytime you need to talk". So I redid it 12"x12" to be used in the calendar for the month of May. The quote I used is "It isn't a home without a phone" ~proverb~

I have to miss IF on Friday next week, it will be the first Friday I have missed in 9 months but I will post for the topic on Sunday... Have a wonderful weekend!!!

If we look into the windows would that make it a 'video' phone call ? Delightful as usual, your imagination is boundless !

This is really lovely (and I continue to be amazed at your range of home-related paintings...wow!) as it shows the importance of staying connected with others. I hope whatever you're doing next Friday is fun...vacation, perhaps?

They say opposites attract... must be because they're at the other end of the line!

val, another fine piece. i love the "music" from the communication lines. this "world" has a softness to it that is uplifting.

your creativity with houses is so clever. i love the anticipation of what you will do next.

Sweet and lovely image! I particularly like the telephone poles with the musical notes running along the wires. They remind me of Paul Klee's musical, twittering birds.

Oh that's so sweet! I sure love those shapes of telephones back then! (which wasn't all that long ago). Soon we will have a buncha people on this planet who won't even recognize the shape! (how saad).

But your paintings are never sad. Love the phone homes. And the birds on the wire and the musical notes. Very swet and happy picture!
