Illustration Friday: Thanksgiving

My submission for Illustration Friday's "Thanksgiving" is from my 2004 HomeMade calendar and the title is "Field House". It is for the month of November and the quote is: "Ten little Indians standing in a line, one went home and then there were nine." ~Anonymous Nursery Rhyme~

I hope everyone has a peaceful and abundant Thanksgiving!

Is that a common nursery rhyme...? I think all of us have heard it, or a version of it. The illustration is very peaceful.

I really love the soft colors and the rolling fields and the border of leaves. What a lovely place to get away from it all (as long as the teepee is heated:> ) The kitty looks like the one Pepe Le Pew was in love with! This one is great!

Have a happy Thanksgiving:>

i love the view from the TeePee. I wonder what the indians were standing in line for? Perhaps they had too much tea? When the line is that long, I would go on home, too. :O)

Interestingly enough, the first welfare line was made up of pilgrims and puritans asking for handouts from the locals...my ancestors.

It always makes me laugh to think of conservative christian fundamentalists receiving public assistance...when it is they who try so hard to eliminate such programs today.
