Illustration Friday: Peace

My submission for Illustration Friday's "Peace" is from one of my valgal winter holiday cards. I did this card for Habitat for Humanity a few years back. I donated 1000 calendars to Habitat for 2002 and they asked me to create a holiday card that they could send out. I had gone to Marthas Vineyard that summer and those sweet campground houses inspired this theme. Once again the thrust of this card is to "Celebrate the Holidays Together". I hope everyone has an inspired time with family and friends this holiday season! Peace for all!!!

What a wonderful piece, Valerie, and what a wonderful donation to Habitat. It makes me think that more of us could donate art and other worthwhile art related items to Habitat for Humanity. Your illustration has a great feeling of peace and harmony.

Warm and Loving - that's the sense I get here. That's what having a home is all about.

I wish we could remember that 'home' is about 'shelter' and 'family' - not about housing grand, expensive things. My chest hurts thinking about those folks who are alone tonight, sleeping under bridges, trying to keep warm.

Val, I got teary eyed reading your post to my blog...Thank you so much for being such a sweet friend. and I truly appreciate all the heart-felt messages you have given me - you do not know how much that means to me. Everyone in IF is so wonderful and I cannot thank all of you guys enough. Chuck always wanted me to draw a cartoon of himself and I always kept postponing it before, now that he's gone, I cannot seem to stop drawing. Thank you again for everything. I am deeply touched and truly appreciate all your messages -Michelle
