Illustration Friday: sprout
My submission for Illustration Friday's "sprout" is from my 2002 HomeMade calendar and the title is "House Plants". This is for the month of May and the quote is: Home is the blossom of which heaven is the fruit ~proverb~I have always enjoyed the quote: Grow where you are planted.HousePlants copyright 2002 Valerie Walsh

Very inventive stuff! It is amazing how plants are these perfect structures that convert sunlight into energy. But yours are even cooler.

Val - you are so creative and imaginative and talented! My goodness...you just keep topping yourself with wonderful paintings. I love the gentleness of this, and i love how you've made the house-flowers resemble hollyhocks (that's what they look like to me). Soooo pretty!
Perfect! I love this Val - so, so sweet. Your work is such a visual treat. (and also i think i just made a poem about you & your work!) ~wink~

Ho ! A plantation of house! I will come to gather mine !

It would be nice if homes grew on trees or vines, wouldn't it be nice if everyone had a home to call their own?

This is so whimsical! I really like that the stems can play as either stems or streets, the driveways being smaller stems. This is one of my all time favourites.
