Illustration Friday: rejection

My submission for Illustration Friday's "rejection" is from a dimensional painting called "Chastity". This was # 3 in a 5-part series for my show "Five Easy Pieces". The paintings were Vanity, Charity, Chastity, Sinkronicity and Stability. Each artwork was based on a piece of furniture or household item. Vanity is a vanity, Chastity, is a chaise lounge, etc. This is a poster and postcard/invite for the show. She had to reject a lot of men to stay chaste.

Of course I just love this image. Check out that moon peeking through the stylish windows? However, I wonder how a beautiful half-naked woman could remain chaste. She must indeed have strong rejection powers!

she must be asexual. or how could it work otherwise?!

val, i just love the blues in this piece. the colors are so so peaceful. this might be one of my very favorites. i'd love to see the other four...

I love how you use bright saturated colors and are always able to set the right mood. There is so much depth to this.

Wonderful piece Val. I love looking through the windows. Could that be a hopeful suitor in the boat? And I love the illuminated building in the distance. Very nice!
