My submission for Illustration Friday's "Moon" is a dimensional painting that I created for a young woman who wanted something a little different. I submitted this to Monday Artday a few weeks ago and I thought this might work today too. I paint so many moons that it was difficult to choose but I recently found this photo and I was happy to see this painting again. It is called "Chained to the Stars".

The mood is so dreamy, i really like it.
I love your 3-dimensional paintings Val. They are so special and this one "Chained to the Stars" is beautiful. We should have had something like this last week in SD when for the first time in many years I saw the stars in the sky.
I really like your work in 3d. It's such a cool effect especially the stars popping out like that.
I knew you'd have a moon stashed away! I love your dimensional paintings.
very nice; we should all be secured to the stars!

i love the reflections and dimensions and what-is-it-called?--depth of field ( i used to say depth of feel and that made sense too).
it is not possible for me to look at your paintings and feel despair. it is just not possible. and for that i am forever grateful to you. !

The stockings are sweet and sexy! You have such great concepts for your 3-D works. Whoever owns this is pretty lucky!

Wicked. Great job implementating a tactile feeling with the combination of a 2D and 3D plane. When reading the piece and looking below the reflection really finishes it for me. It has a nice polish.
Oh I love this so much! Your work is perfection and I'd love to know how you achieve such results besides having a wonderful gift for design!
Fascinating and unique - as alwasy. ;-)

Beautiful illustration, Val. I can't figure out whether you did it with and airbrush or if you do some of your work digitally. You always use such bright beautiful colors.
Very nice! I knew you'd have a lot to choose from on this topic!
