Illustration Friday: worry

Sometimes when I get ready to leave the house, my dog Rat seems to worry. Once he realizes that he will not be coming with me he looks sad and let down. This can cause me a little guilt but I promise him I will be right back with a walk in his future and I leave him with a few cookie bribes. He seems to look a little less worried...
My submission for Illustration Friday's "worry" is a small layered dimensional painting "House Sitting" and it is made with Foam board, clay, wood, acrylic paint and resin.

Should be a blog of note, if not already. I just happened to stumble upon it. Excellent work. Come see one of my blogs like "Bring Back the Dodo?" (http://bringbackthedodo.blogspot.com). Thank you.

Love this little image and the tale of your dog. My best little friend, Iona, wanted me to do a picture of a dog having to stay at home. She just got a 'rescue dog' for her 12th birthday and knows how they worry when left alone!

Rat is a lucky dog to have such a talented and caring mommy.

Another lovely illustration as you always did. Like the frame design a lot.

What a nice piece of artwork.

Dogs do have a way of guilting you when you leave them home, don't they?

Well how cool is that!
What is that made of?

I really like this, and the story about RAT.

Your creation is wondeful. I love all the dimensions and textures and the shiny shingles. It must be fantastic in 'person.'

Nice picture, I love the use of green in it... softens the whole piece yet makes it seem a bit melancholy.Really lovely work, thanks for sharing.

Hi, Valerie! Thanks for your visit and comments. I'm glad you stopped by, which is how I came to your blog. WOW! I'm so glad to have found you. Love your use of colors and values.

How do you create your art? Is it watercolors? Digital? They're beautiful!

Val, your dog is worried because you named him Rat. :-)

Val, I didn't take Emma Lou with me to my last animal communication class. She pouted and huffed. It was too cold and wet outside. So one of my students blurts out, "Oh that's terrible. You promised her! She's mad at you." Sigh.

I am dogsitting Bubbles again. I have been sick again and I had to call my husband and children by cell phone to get me things because they were all over the place and were busy. When they realized I was sick then they became very attentive. However, during all those times, there was one constant companion who slept beside me, jumped on top of me, snuggled with me and just stayed with me - my dearest friend's dog Bubbles. I believe that pets do feel the vibes and they protect their owners.

Your dimensional paintings are so cool! I'd love to see one. Do you ever do gallery shows?

Such a cute story about Rat. My kitty Joey used to have the worst separation anxiety when he was an only child. He used to throw himself between the door and eye and make barley audible, raspy, meowing sounds. He's pretty blasé about it all now that he has two playmates.

You keep coming up with the most wonderful 'takes' on the IF theme. I thought this was one of their worst ever themes, and there's been a few duds, but once again your art shines through. I like the story that goes with it. x
