Illustration Friday: Welcome

A welcome port in the storm. My submission for Illustration Friday's "Welcome" theme is Bumbershoot House stationary cards for a Monday Artday ATC group. I have been away for a week. I flew to Washington and me, my Mom and sister drove to Sandpoint Idaho to visit my brother. It was the perfect weather for a roadtrip and as you can see very lovely! Here's a picture of my Mom, brother and sister.

Leave it to you to make a rainy day feel as happy as sunshine. This is absolutely delightful! I love the big flowers, of course. And such beautiful scenery! Just goes to show you that you don't need to go somewhere exotic to see beautiful lands. Photo of the family is great!

Such a beautiful place. So quiet and peaceful life that I'm going to miss after moving to Bangkok. I like to sing to my little one "Rain, rain go away, come again another day." But I enjoy looking at the rain drops falling from the sky, just like the one on your card.

Oh My goodness gracious! How absolutely divine the lake and the house! How wonderful. The pictures are just fantastic. You make me want to go and visit!!!! I love this card. It's just the cutest thing! Now, Valerie, this is my little house at the edge of the forest LOL! Brilliant. Wishing you all the very, very, best from Jersey!

I love the way you think of others in each painting or creation. The bumbershoot house is a perfect example of your willingness to offer a helping hand to those around you. The painting is lovely!

Your photos from Idaho are such a delight. What beautiful country!

Love the bumbershoot house! It's very welcoming to have a place of refuge in a storm. Great work ....again!...Val! Hey thanks for your humorous comments at my place.

OH! MY! GOD! How in the hec did I miss this???? When I was a kid (12-19) I lived in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. One summer, my best friend and I decided to ride our bikes from CdA to Sandpoint to her uncles place (NORTH of sandpoint). It was 110 miles and we did it in one day. What was crazy was I had a crappy 10 speed (a friggin' HUFFY) and only ONE gear worked! 3rd! Needless to say, I huffed it the entire way...huff...huff..hufffy! Sandpoint is beautiful...did you stop by lake Pend Oreille? There are cool mountain goats on the other side of lake...nice place...miss it...ahhhh....
