Illustration Friday: Speed

My submission for Illustration Friday topic, Speed is from my 2002 HomeMade calendar. The title is "Mobile Home" and was for the month of September. I recognize that I am not showing speed as much as moving on or forward but I think moving forward is a good message too. I have been very sick the last couple of days. I have not been this sick for over 10 years. It's easy to forget how lucky to feel healthy every day. I feel so grateful to feel well today!!! I didn't get to comment on everybody's Spring but I hope to get to you double this round. Thank you for all of your beautiful comments, it means so much to me!

another fun illustration; a unique way of looking at mobile homes...

Hope you are feeling better soon. *Hands ValGal some soothing herbal tea; a fuzzy blanket and turns on a movie...

Oh Val, how adorable! You do the neatest things!

It almost sounds like you are homesick, but since you work at home maybe you are sick of being home !
Enough joking though, hope you get better in a few hours, maybe it's just a 24 hour bug.

P.S. Luv the details on the shingles. Make sure every thing is glued down in that house ! One wrong turn and ...

I love how everything you draw makes me wish I had something like it.. now I want a house like that! :D

That´s something I dream of: a portable home. It would make my life so much easier! I like that the gal travels single and takes the middle of the road, quite an independent spirit :)
All the best for your health!

Val, I'm glad you're feeling better...it is horrible to be sick! This is great and fun, which makes it great fun. I know people become so attached to their homes that they dig them up and move them... I've also seen trailers at the race track that people have decked out to look like "home" with screen doors and siding, etc... Stay well:>>>>

Aw that is so adorable.

Wouldn't that be so wonderful to be able to just up an move your home like that on the back of your truck anytime you wanted? But. Of course. If your house was that small to fit on the back of your truck, maybe it wouldn't be so wonderful after all.

I love how the mailbox is even moving with it. Your work is always so happy and whimsical.

I was so saddened to hear you were so sick, but happy you're feeling better now. Take care of you!

Aravis said...

I don't know, it sure is moving faster than most houses I see! *G* It's a great illustration, as always. You're so creative! Just when I think you won't be able to do something house related for the theme, you do. You're amazing. :0)

Feel better soon!!!

Hi Valgal, sorry to hear you've been under the weather, I can relate. Glad you are back in the game though! This is a nice image and I like the message behind it. Take care and don't do too much for a bit, no relapses!!
I have wanted a moving house for so many years...I hate boxes!! I hate getting rid of treasures in the speed of the moment. I don't like moving much at all anymore, now that I think about it:)))
The drivable house would be cool, but I would need one just like this!

This makes me think of the song that goes, 'can't wait to get (my house) on the road again!', or something like that. :P Very cute!

I somehow missed your beautiful spring greenhouse last week. It's so pretty, and I like the tree growing inside.

A beautiful rendition of 'speed'--slow speed, fast speed, whatever speed, it is still speed. I love how the lawn and the mailbox are on the bed of the truck, too. Hilarious!

Speed your way to health, Val!
