Happiness
I am so happy today!!! I have finished a painting that I have been working on for months! It is why I am behind on everything else in my life! It is one of the most difficult paintings I have done. The reason for this is, it is not really a house. When I started my blog, I wrote that I received a commission from a couple who wanted me to do a Houscape of their miniature horses abode and back yard. It got put put on hold for a couple months and then everything fell into place and I started the job. Normally even though I love a challenge I would have said no. This is not what I do. This is a landscape and I don't crave doing landscapes. I truly love to paint houses. But they have been good patrons, they have commissioned 2 other paintings and said I could take as long as I need to. That means I can do other jobs that come in so I decided to accept. Well, I finished the horses houses very quickly and then I was faced with all of the plants and flowers. I am such a detail person that it took months which was not my plan but the painting comes out of me the way it needs to and I am just along for the ride. Some days it flowed and some days it was a pain in my tush! I have about 5 minutes to rejoice and now I have to do the 3 projects that are sitting on my desk waiting to be started. Momentary bliss!

Yay! Glad you're done! I can really see and appreciate all of that detail! How big is the painting?
Hope you finally get a little rest!
Hi Janet! Thanks for asking, it is a 1ft. x 2ft. masonite panel. I wish I could rest but I have more jobs to do. I get a 7 day holiday in July!!!

Awesome Val! For someone who doesn't like to do landscapes, you did a beautiful job. Your clients will be very happy.

I also love it that you don't have the strange "word" trap...I hate those spammie things...they are worse than spam!
Wow, sweet, I bet they are very happy with this, love all the country detail and the mountains in the background-lucky people. Beautiful piece
Congrats! It came out beautifully! I really love all the detail you put into it. :)
First of all, you're too kind. I really appreciate all of the nice comments you leave for my art ~ it's very encouraging, so THANKS! Second, how beautiful is this painting? I would love to see close ups but I realize it's a bit big to fit on a scanner. I hope the couple appreciates all the work that went into this gorgeous piece of art!
Well done ValGal! What a gorgeous painting, and well worth all the effort!
Love Cathy xxxxxxx
You should take more than a moment to be blissful about this one! It is lovely.
I find it refreshing when someone pulls you out of your normal style of working to do something challenging. You have done a magnificent job here ~ the detail!

It is always a good feeling to put closer on a piece you have been working on. It may not be houses but your unique style and flare come flying through.
Beautiful!
I'm back checking everyones blog and your IF is wonderful.
Ps: I changed the name of my blog but the url is still the same
Congratulation! I can see why it was a pain for you as a detailer to paint this landscape - but how lovely it turned out! Like the ideal garden of a dream. Too bad you can´t take rests inside your paintings.
What an amazing painting - I can see why it took all that time with all those little details in there. I clicked and looked at it as large as possible and I'd like to have seen it even larger.
Soak in your happiness you deserve it.
amazing
very gOOd!
It's beautiful.
Months! I can barley stay focused for an hour.
I want to live in this painting.
love
