Illustration Friday: Fat
My Submission for Illustration Friday's theme Fat is from my 2002 HomeMade Calendar for the month of October. The title is "Home Grown". I have always loved the idea of the annual pursuit to grow the largest pumpkin. The quote is : "Wide is the door of the cottage" ~proverbMedium: Liquitex acrylics on Canson Airbrush papercopyright 2001

Awww. A punkin house!!! Very cute and chubby!
its lovely :o) greetings, Issi
Should we change the song to:
'fatty fatty two by four, can't fit through the pumpkin door.'
Or maybe I'm just a ding-a-ling.
Luv the pumpkin patch in the yard, say how do you paint the sides of the pumpkin when the houses are so close...oh, wait. Just ask the pumpkin house to suck in it's belly !
:-D

Heh, uber cute. You really nail that style to the wall, don't you? It's incredibly consistent. I think it's awesome that you've found the way you like to express yourself.

Oh right on! I am always impressed how you have infused so much personality in your houses,,, great!
What a fun and great take on "fat"! When my children were little we took them to their great great grandfather's garden where they had first pick of the largest pumpkins. The always wanted one HUGE pumpkin and one tiny pumpkin. Then we had to figure out how to get them into the van to get them home, some weighed so much it took two men to get them in the van!
The colors, the honey and butterscotch, i love the warmth of this piece, and your fat little pumpkin house looks happy. Love the little red flowers and pumpkins on the front lawn to. Wonderful work!
This is wonderful!! Looks like it's bursting with fun and happiness, and the detail is great. Did the house turn into a pumpkin at midnight? :)

Something about growing big fat pumkins is fun and exciting. I always loved watching my boys when they were little digging out seeds from the pumkins. I think your houses just bring back awesome memories for people.
This makes me think of Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater! I love how wonderfully you cary your theme throught the whole paitning...everything is pumpkin colored and there's the pumpkin patch in the front yard...You're so creative, Val!
Ha! I wondered, too, like Carla, is Peter Pumpkin Eater's wife being kept very well in there? Love your glowing world, Val.
