Illustration Friday: Match

My submission for Illustration Friday's "Match" is a dimensional painting I made in 1991 for the Revness family in Brentwood. This piece is called "Some Enchanted Evening". The guy is seranading the woman and if this works out it is a match made in heaven...

If the match is as romantic as this piece of art then it will be timeless.

Dear Bad Dog: It's interesting that a deceased dog that is bad would be interested in buying art! Where do you put your money and do they have walls where you are?

Beautiful artwork--and I guess the guy must have been successful since they're now a family and wanted you to paint this for them!

AS usual, I love it and you have kicked all our butts... the colours are beautiful as usual as well. You are very good with colour and not being afraid to use it.

Very sweet and romantic - reminds me of the houses of Frida Kahlo and Diego Riveria, I think they had blue houses joined by a bridge :)

Oh that is too cool that it is dimensional! I would love to see this in person. So roman tic and gorgeous. I love how the houses in the back seem to be floating in mid-air. A wonderful painting!

You do seem to have a storehouse somewhere filled to the brim with high quality work. Do you ever put a brush down?

I love bridges and yours is lovely as is the rest of the piece. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

beautiful work… what i don't get is why he doesn't just use the bridge… or why she doesn't come running across said bridge into his arms…

I do like the dimensional look, gives me the feeling the lovers could cross that little bridge that isolates one from the other, and
I love paintings that pull me in, and this little scene is full of drama and purpose. Lucky Revness family.

It sort of reminds me of the brige between Frida and Diego's houses. Were they a match made in heaven or hell? Hmmmmm...either way, lovely submission!

How charming and evocative!

The perspective that you created really jumps of the canvas, Val. And it almost glows with color.

Great match, Val!
Is she playing hard to get or just hiding from prying eyes?
Let's hope that bridge is over troubled waters.
