My Submission for Illustration Friday's "Change" comes from a painting titled "Hanging Around". If dry cleaning was sent through your home, you'd always be ready for a change!
I made this painting in 1997 and hung it in a gallery on Main Street in Santa Monica and within a few days a naked person came in and bought it. Just kidding, they wore clothes. Have a fun weekend my friends!

Val, you're too funny! This is quite a charming one...but you're right, I wouldn't want dry cleaning running through my home. Great colors!
ha ha, for a second i believed that a naked person did buy your painting. i remember venice ca when it was a nude beach (you see).
nice painting!
Stunning work - as ever - ValGal!
Val Gal: Since I was of the K-9 pursuasion in my last lifetime I'm not all that familiar with clothing. They give you one spandex fur suit when you are a puppy and it just grows with you. My last one has a nasty set of tire tracks but since I'm planning on being a human next time I'm sure I'll be a natty dresser. Pax et Amo. B.D.
This is so whimsical! I love the atmosphere!
You have the cutest house in all the world!!!!!!!!
Super! You know what I like a lot about tour work?... the rich blue sky you often paint in the background... the art is always refreshing.
Oh, I could totally live here! Would I have to be naked? Hee. What a great concept. You can win an award for Best use of Color.
very convenient way of getting the wash done! lots of fun here!
You've done it again! Bravo!
no way, Valgal. YOU're fabulous. Did you read a lot of Dr. Seuss in your time? Do you absolutely love Fantasia, the movie? i love your colors, the night sky and the warm light windows. selling it is a bonus!
*wants to live there too*
great illustration valerie… your buildings have quite a bit of personality…
A change of clothes is almost a change of scene and always a change of attitude. Great energy here, Val. ANd thanks for the comments earlier today -- much appreciated!
Hihi, I have been to Santa Monica and wouldn´t be surprised if naked people walked into a gallery. The painting is fabulous, such rich and soothing colors!
I love these dancy fun buildings. It's almost like they're wearing the clothes as their outfits.
Yes, Val you got me there!
Change is as a rest!

Hi Val! Great illustration and love your humor. My dry cleaning bills are a killer. I think I would prefer the luxury of being naked. No, on second thought, I would definitely not!!! I have been on a bit of a sabbatical but am back now, the summer has been really busy. Thanks for stopping by and for all your warm supportive comments!
Thanks for the message! Love the colors you chose..

If dry cleaning was sent through my home I wouldn't have to get in the car and go downtown to pick it up.
This is another beautiful painting, Val...just beautiful.

All right now, you had me going there for a second! Don't they have a dress code in Santa Monica?

Hi ValGal!
Thanks for your message on my work, but especially for the message about Herbert, which really touched me. She was a really cute hamster (aren't they all) - but she was really special!
Love the wacky interconnecting clotheslines!
I really like the colours.
Funny story - funny houses. I like your very special style with the beautiful colours and happy touch.
ValGal - here's a link to the legend of Wayland the smith. It is, well, rather lurid ...
