Illustration Friday: 100%

100 percent Prismacolor pencil for Illustration Friday's "100 %" theme. This is cute, it will be a diecut and when you turn one of the corners of the lawn it stands up as a decoration or place holder. I will post it again once it's been printed and cut. 100% home too.

Illustration Friday: "Emergency"

My submission for Illustration Friday's "Emergency" is a colour-pencil study for the painting "Homeward Bound" featuring my dog Rat. The emergency that we are all faced with is over building. Yes, I love buildings but all of this constant building, subdivisions and mini mansions and the like are pushing all the wildlife out and wiping away the face of our towns. I'm afraid it is a big emergency! I posted a painting of this for IF here but sometimes I make a colour pencil version first to flesh out the idea. I find using pencils a soothing form of relaxation. You can listen to a movie or music and colour away. I also reversed the image which I love to do so I can see it both ways. Happy Friday!

Illustration Friday: Polar

My submission for Illustration Friday's "Polar" is from some stationary that I made for Marisol. It was created to encourage children to write more letters, especially "Thank You" letters to family, friends and even strangers for their kindness. They sold through the PTA and it was a worthy idea and project. Printed on recycled paper with a matching envelope they can be used with your printer as well, so there is no excuse for not thanking someone. We did another set with Thank You written in every language and of course I did buildings from around the world. I'm sure I will post it in the future. The image shows that a house is a gift .
